vision
we serve knowledge
AADO derives from a verb that means “to teach" in Andoke, a unique Amazonian language with no traceable origin. We spent months with Andoke elders making a feature documentary film to alert on the vulnerability of indigenous communities and on the resurgence of colonialist patterns in the Colombian Amazon. Inspiring ourselves of the Andoke language was a way to pay tribute to the Andoke tribe, who is fighting for the preservation of their language, and with it of their ancestral knowledge. This film will be ready in 2023.
By choosing the name AADO MEDIA, literally “instructive media" we emphasize that the work we produce are intended to be vehicles of knowledge, and/or vehicles of feelings and experiences that eventually translate into an intimate form of knowledge.
VALUES
TRUTHFULNESS, CURIOSITY & VERSATILITY
In a world where artificiality and facticity tend to replace authenticity and factuality, truthfulness is less and less accessible.
This is why we engage in telling stories, as well as in helping others tell theirs, in a truthful and authentic manner, giving priority to the subject’s own expression and self-fashioning rather than to artificial storytelling.
STYLE
IMMERSIVE, INTIMATE & INVENTIVE
Truthfulness can only be achieved through aesthetics of immersion, which bring the public as close as possible to the emotional realities of characters and to the core of stories.
And to keep the narrative rhythm going, we constantly seek to show unexpected facets of the realities each project throw our way.
SOCIAL IMPACT
helping people and causes becoming vocal and getting heard
We’re passionate about uncovering hidden stories and helping people formulate theirs their own way, in their own words.
By creating artful & artistic, high impact media, we aim to inform, to educate, to advocate for positive change, and to participate in reducing inequality in all its forms.
The media we produce intends to nourish thoughts durably and create unforgettable thrills, as opposed to media destined to serve immediacy, which are consumed and cast into oblivion at the same time.
