"Amazon Icons" is an immersion in the depths of the Colombian Amazon, in the life of stranger-than-fiction Cacique Fisi ANDOKE, who after 80 years of dissolute existence suddenly decides to take his fate into his own hands. The film follows him as he embarks on a race against time, and defies the ghosts of his past to reunite a straying community and save their disappearing culture.

The film is a long-term project that follows the slow but dramatic flow of events in this modern-day Far West that is the Colombian Amazon, with a particular emphasis on the tensions between tradition and modernity, the indigenous and the exogenous, the self and the other, the human will and human vices. It dives into the never ending, surreal action of the Amazonian setting, where ambiguous but incredibly humane characters live, rejoice and quarrel at the pace of bonanzas, these short but intense scrambles for a resource that leave behind unique stories, hang-overs and empty pockets.

Production started in 2019 and is still running.
